Summer vacation in or around Michigan?
I live in southwest MI and i’m trying to decide what to do this summer for vacation. We own a camper trail, so we would like to camp somewhere that we can bring our 2 dogs. My husband loves to fish, so we would like it to be on a lake or river. Any suggestions?

Can I suggest using the State of Michigan Tourism website http://michigan.org to help you decide. Look under Things to Do or Outdoors,
Any of the Beachtowns in the Featured Destinations would be a good choice. The website also has a list of State Park and Forest campgrounds. I suggest using this campground search (map search is near the middle of the page center)

Most campgrounds allow dogs on 6 ft leashes. They are not usually allowed at public beaches. The western UP would be a good trip, closer to home, PJ Hoffmaster and Ludington State Parks if you can get a spot.
If there are kids, bring bikes, most other kids will have them.
