Sink Unit
Getting the correct size sink unit?
I live in the U.K and bought my property, which has a fitted kitchen, about 10 years ago. I have no idea who fitted the kitchen, but now I need a new Kitchen Sink unit. The one I already have has 2 bowels and is embedded in the work surface. I have no idea from what point to measure the unit, and no idea how to get the exact size because I have tried many places such as FocusDIY, Homebase, and B & Q, who all have standard sizes, but not the one I want.
Please advice.
This is called an inset sink and would possibly be what is termed as a bowl and a half which is one of the most popular, look for a small stamp in one of the sink corners as this could be a Franke. Take the dimensions
width and length then look at this web site as there are dozens to choose from and it is lightly that you will find a replacement to drop into the existing Cut Out.www.franke.co.uk/sinks/default.asp this is not a difficult job for a plumber to replace like for like but a Franke bowl and a half would probably cost around £230 to buy plus fitting cost good luck
