can the glass shielding the distance scale on my lens be replaced?
the distance scale (that’s what it is called in the manual) on my lens has a scratch on it. Can it be removed?
Live with it. There will be no effect to your pictures. You can replace it with a piece of clear plastic with the same thickness but you will most probably either do a poor job that the scratched one will look better or you might do more harm to the lens or camera itself and regret it. If you don’t want to see it, cover it with black tape. Count it as a battle scar, an addition to your gear’s personality.

Shahe Hebei large glass industry base will be built
Recently, a “Chinese Glass City” as the goal of large-scale glass industry base is located in Shahe City, Hebei Province, the rise of the south. Experts predict that by 2020, Shahe City of glass production will stabilize at 60 million weight boxes, can produce more than 20 kinds of glass products.
It is reported that Shahe glass industry was founded in 1980, built in 1995, the first grid method of glass production lines. As of the end of 2006, Shahe City, a total of 176 flat glass manufacturing enterprises, 224 production lines with annual output of 50 million weight cases, accounting for about 12% of flat glass production.
In 2006, Shahe City on New Year LOW-E coating, the Great Wall ultra-white coatings, large bright extra-thick low-E, Xin Li ultra-white ultra-thin, ultra-white book road WorldCom coating, Chun-wai-line coating, etc. 11 of float glass production lines, a total investment of 3.1 billion, is expected to be completed at the end of this year, four production lines.
