How to stop my Miniature Toy-terrier puppy stop peeing and pooping in the house ?
6 month ago we brought my pup to our home , after some weeks he peed and pooped in our house. I read that it’s very hard to train that kind of breed, so i am asking what to do to make him stop peeing and pooping everywhere ; beds ,rugs , sofas … without shouting at him or spanking him ?
Get a crate that is large enough for your dog to lie down in comfortably and turn around. If you are not holding your dog’s leash, playing with him, feeding him or walking him (ie, if you can’t keep an eye on him ALL THE TIME) then he is in that crate. You can also tether him to your belt so he is nearby and you can keep an eye on him as you go about your day.
Puppies should be taken out: after they wake, after they play, after they eat… in other words… take him out often. Dogs can hold it in for an hour for every month they are old. Most dogs by that age are house trained, some require longer to get the idea. Praise your dog when she does her business outside. If she has an accident, it’s your fault for not watching her more closely. It may seem like she is in there alot, but you need to put in the time. Take her out often so she is not in that crate too long. She will get the idea. If she has an accident in the house, say nothing. If you catch her doing it, take her outside and praise her for finishing out there. Never punish. It will only teach her not to pee in front of you.
