Painting Ooak
Is safe to apply DuraClear varnish to baked Polymer Clay and then heat again?

I am making eyes that look like glass doll eyes for an OOAK project, and I’ve read that the eyes should be coated in sealer/varnish after they are baked and painted. My real question is once this has been done and the eyes are placed in the figure and the figure is heated with the varnished eyes, is there any risk of the sealer melting or any other such problem while the figure is being baked? Also, would DecoArt’s DuraClear exterior/interior varnish be safe to use in this way, or would some other sealer like Varathane or Fimo glaze be better?
Thanks!

Why not do a test with a few blobs of polymer clay and the paint and the varnish. I think it stands a good chance of being a mess, especially if the reheating is hotter than the original. I don’t see a good reason for sealing the color before the second baking when it would take a small dab with a paint brush afterward to get a gloss finish. But not an expert.
