Oak Miniature
E. Texas birders and experts please respond?
I wonder what kind of bird I am seeing in my bird feeder. Blue jay looks like a miniature, about half the size, proportionately smaller crest, gray medium in which a blue bird is blue, the bottom light. I jays seen women with their peers and this bird is considerably smaller and no trace of blue at all. The bird does not have the queue length than a jay. It's bigger than a sparrow. I live about 100 miles east of Dallas, Texas, in a forest (oak) 3 acre lot. Also, if there is a good website where you can plug in the descriptions of the birds and identify possible to obtain images, please share. Thx.
