When was the original Monopoly Board Game created?

a picture would be helpful too.

I believe my grandma may have the original design, so I was curious as to if I am correct on my guess.

The Old Is New Again With Monopoly City

We all have one particular person on our Chistmas list who is impossible to choose a gift for. It’s always difficult to buy for children, you never know the latest fad or fashion. It’s just as difficult when buying for adults because thir interests become more specialised and we’re in danger of buying something totally unsuitable.

So where should we look? In truth, there isn’t one single answer but I’d like to suggest Monopoly City, the traditional board game that has been totally updated.

Hasbro introduced this new version of the classic game at the Nuremberg International Toy Fair in 2009. Estimations are that more than 485 million people worldwide play Monopoly, meaning that there’s every chance of the new version being a roaring success.

With demand expected to outstrip supply, it’s a good idea to buy online from one of the online retailers or eBay as early as possible. With finances still squeezed for the coming holiday season this ame would make an excellent gift at very good value for money.

We might say that Monopoly City is the new kid on the block. It retains the same rules, layout and style of game play of the original classic Monopoly board game in that you roll dice, move your game piece around the board and try to make money and not spend too much time in jail. However, the creators have made this version noticeably more complex.

In Monopoly City the players are given their chance to create the perfect city. It’s up to each player to decide if they want to construct housing and schools or build an industrial empire. One of the cherished prizes to go for in the game is the prestigious Monopoly tower.

With new property names, new monetary values, 3-D buildings, and new playing cards, Monopoly City is a much more modern, up-to-date game. As an example, the currency ranges are now much higher in value than in the classic game. In this modernised version the money goes all the way up to five million dollars.

Another difference between the two versions of Monopoly is that the new game features “zoning permits” for the areas that they want to develop, rather than the traditional property deeds. Another new feature is electronic trading which allows players to hold public or private auctions for properties or whole districts.

.

It includes the game board, six movers, buildings, 22 District cards, 25 Chance cards, six Reminder cards, one Rent Dodge card, two dice, one money pack, and one trading unit with instructions. Batteries do not come with the package.
