Blinking christmas lights and jingling bells are the big part of the holiday season. During November and December strands of lights are seen everywhere like Chirstmas trees, houses, shrubs, bushes and even the occasional car! Two of the main concerns of most of the people are:
- How to save energy during Christmas seasons.
- How to install lights that serve the purpose of parallel series
Normally three strands of lights are required to decorate a Christmas tree. If we use a conventional strand of 50-5 watt bulbs, the strand consumes 250 watts! Using three strands means using 750 watts. That means initializing lot of power. Now with the introduction of miniature bulbs have solved the problem. Miniature Christmas bulb consumes 2.5-volts. Using these as Christmas lights will consume only half of the power that is 375 watts. Hope this tip will definitely reduce the power usage during the season.
The second concern is of connecting the strands in a parallel series. This miniature Christmas lights have a mechanism called shunt circuit mechanism. This mechanism works on the principle that if on e of the bulb goes off even then the shunt circuit keeps the current going.
