Warhammer Fantasy/40K. Cant decide which army i want to build and play, taking much too long.?
My friends have already decided, and i have yet to, its taking my way too long. I need help.
My options are fantasy or 40K, we’ll decide which game once we have all decided.
I understand each game fundamentally, and realize the differences and similarities.
This is how i’d like to play:
I want to be able to set my units, and deal as much damage, as far away as possible, without ever getting touch. now i realize getting away completely clean is unrealistic and it’s not expected, just how i’d like it to be.
So any input would help, i have only painted friends and cousins models, not actually played or have any of my own. I dont need to decide on “how easy the army is to paint” or how good it looks on the field.
I do diorama’s as a career and know exactly what im doing when it comes to painting miniatures and terrain.
Just a last note, i dont have a personal preference or bias towards either era of the GW games, they are both great games and enjoyable processes.
if you like the concept of shooting the hell out of the target from range, then i would reccomend you play a tau army in warhammer 40,000, since they have the most powerful long ranged weaponry for basic troopers.if your forces are engaged as a tau player though, you often wil have a hard time reppelling a close combat attack (but tau have kroot to do this job for em)
with any wargame however, unless you opponent has the same idea about firefights you will usually have at least a few assault units coming at you (so tau could cut them down as priority) (or all of them if korsaro khan is your opponents HQ unit, he allows all units to outflank).
i dont play warhammer personally, but from what ive been told its very much about manouvering formations for assault, with range weaponry being a secondary consideration.
