I saw a strange bird….?
Ok, so a few months ago, for some reason, I went to the bus stop about ten minutes earlier than usually in the morning, and so did two other of my friends. While we were there one of my friends noticed that there was a strange bird, and we all looked. It was this really large bird, it was maybe about the size of an eight year old. It had a hug wingspan, with rounded ends, and it look es like it had no feathers. It looked kind of like a miniature pterodactyl. After it flew off, nobody I knew said they ever saw it. I saw it in Central Texas, so does anybody know what type of bird this may be?
It wasn’t any type of bird I have seen before,nothing like a crane, vulture, eagle, duck, etc. It was huge with a brownish color. it had the wierdest looking shape, and kind of a hunch back. It was as tall as cranes and herons, but about and fat as eagles and vultures
based on your vague explanation i would have to guess that it is a vulture. some sub species have bald necks and they can get quite large. did you notice if it had a large beak?
