How do I get rid of the mini-scrollbar that came built into my laptop? Scrolls randomly without my trying to?
I just bought my new laptop about a week ago, and there’s this really annoying feature that came with it, all I can think to call it is a miniature scroll bar. It’s a whole lot smaller than the regular side scroll bar, tiny even. It shows up at random points in the middle of the screen and drags the page up or down very fast and is difficult to stop once in action.
What is this thing and how can I get rid of it?
You are probably triggering this when you vertically swipe along the edge of your trackpad. Some computers have the outer edges programmed to function as a quick scrolling command akin to the center scroll button on a traditional PC mouse.
Some manufacturers have this feature permanently integrated into the trackpad while others can disabled in the system preferences.
Since you neglected to mention the make and model of your computer, I can’t offer much help beyond the general. See if you can click around in your settings and if you can find the option, there’s your answer.
