The primer to a plastic surface?
Hi all, While not an artist in the sense of Picasso, I am an artist, model, aircraft paint, cars and action figures (of all sizes from 6 mm to 50 mm). I'm looking for a manual to be put into operation with immediate effect. The following considerations: Gesso: Gypsum can be used in a plastic surface? I am unsure whether or not my plaster cast is made of acrylic or animal, but I'm assuming it's the first: acrylic. Acrylic paints adhere to a plaster covered under plastic as a model car / plane? I have used successfully in cast metal (25 mm) miniatures but I'm sure if I can repeat that success with plastics. Enamel spraypaint: What's this? In some cases, but this is not always characteristic enamel aerosols, it can eat through the plastic. That is why the first layer of the model with Future floor wax as a protective coat, then pass spray-down with the enamel. Either viable? Thank you, Av
I would say that option one and two, both sound viable. I avoid enamel spray …. I do not recognize that plastic would do much good – but their work could wax. Why not make 'test' pieces. You surplice can use pieces of plastic frames, so you're not harmful "treasure" pieces of the model. Good luck-sw
