Louis Icart
Louis Icart…?

I have the ‘Basket of Apples’ print from I think 1924 by Louis Icart. I would like to sell this in an auction on Ebay but I am unsure of what to sell it at. I think it’s worth well over $250 or $300 but there are some poeple seeling theirs for only 20 bucks! ?? Well I know it is just a print though so…? Does anyone know what I should sell it at?

if you have an Icart that is on good paper stock and not just a reproduction on slick flat paper and the one you have is pencil signed by the artist is could be worth as much as 2500-3000 depending on how rare the series is that it came from. Google some dealers and get some more info see if you can get some of the art auction prices on the same piece from that edition. I handled his work a long time ago and it was worth 3-500 each then the more yu know about it the better you can be about getting what it is really worth wholesale. good luck

ps his work was usually drypoint and etching with hand coloring or plate coloring so look for color that is slightly out of the lines and that would be a good indication of hand coloring which would lead you to believe that it is from an edition of original prints not a repro
