Painting kitchen wood items?
Hi!
I’ve recently taken up painting kitchen items such as wooden pepper mills, trays, bowls, etc. I was wondering what would be the right kind of paint to use as well as the right finish. They have to be food safe of course…. I currently use Acrylic Latex water based paints and finish them off with Acrylic Lacquer spray (someone told me they are food safe when fully cured), but I’m worried that the paint won’t last given that the items will be used everyday.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
I never have painted in bowls.. the rest it really doesn’t matter if its on the outside of the item.
So it doesn’t have to be ‘food safe’ since nobody eats off a pepper mill or even a tray.
I have a decorated door on the bread box again it wouldn’t matter how the paint would be.. but
I wouldn’t paint inside a bowl and painted plates are only to hang on walls for decoration.
