A pendant lamp that is designed to have wiring can be easily connected to an extension cord and plugged You have two more cables soil. Use wire nuts to make connections and the whole thing with duct tape. It may not be the prettiest thing around, but be safe. If you can connect to a switched outlet is all set. If not, a line switch is not complicated.
