Removal of a mature grisilinea hedge?
I want to remove an old grisilinea hedge that seperates my drive from my lawn – to open up the garden and create a flower border / rockery area (and remove the snail haven that the base of the hedge provides!). If I cut this hedge down – how do I stop it re-sprouting? The roots of the hedge will be growing under my tarmac so I don’t want to tie the stumps to a tractor and rip them out incase I damage my drive. Not sure how should I approach this? Be assured – I will not be doing this work during the bird nesting season !

Killz-All. This herbicice will kill the plant from the top down. The roots will die. Follow the label instructions, and watch for calm days to spray. This process will take some time, and you will need to leave the dead ugly tops alone long enough for the roots to die.
