How do you get the “woody” smell out of clothes stored in a chest of drawers?
I’ve heard that stuffing the drawer with crumpled newspaper helps. Maybe a box of baking soda? I had to rewash a shirt but sweaters
are not so easily deodorized and smell like Grandpa’s closet.
Washing clothes and using fabric softener will help get rid of the smell in clothes. For sweaters, I would try spraying with Fabreeze or using the dry cleaner freshening system you use in the dryer. However, to prevent the smell from happening try this: wipe the inside of the drawers down with Vodka, and let dry. You may have to do this a couple of times. You may also need to wipe the insides of the dresser down. (Learned from an antique dealer)
