The best way to buy an ergonomic chair?
Im looking to invest in an ergonomic chair but cannot afford some of the names of the designers top because my budget is around 200 pounds. Internet companies offer alternatives, but I have no idea if they are good. What is the best way to go test on chairs. I live in Bristol, are there stores that offer quality ergonomic chairs

The benefits of Stacking Chairs
The history of furniture is, until the 20th century was dominated by manufacturers that use wood to produce their products. By the late 19th century some companies experimented with techniques for bending wood in an attempt to reduce production costs and be labor-intensive able to make chairs and tables that were attractive, strong and cheap enough to sell in large quantities to increase the number of people whose wealth is increasing as a result Development of the Industrial Revolution. These bentwood chairs stack first developed by Michael Thonet (1796-1871) the production of the chair and became in a popular revolution, especially for commercial use, furnishing hotels and restaurants throughout Europe.
With the technical advances made in the production steel in the first part of the 20th century, steel pipe and aluminum became cheaper and cheaper and in 1925 Marcel Breuer designed the Wassily chair in 1926 and later a steel chairs of the first commercially available tubular cantilever (appointed president B33) was designed by Mart Stam and put into production in 1927. Using tube bending machines, manufacturers could see that new designs of chairs could be produced with relative ease and high degree of uniformity could be achieved in any quantity. The designers could produce chairs and tables that were stronger and cheaper than wood and may also design other characteristics closely desirable on chairs, the head of which is the ability to stack. The space saving benefits of stacking furniture had already been investigated by Alvar Aalto in his model bentwood stool 60, which first entered production in 1932 and has remained popular ever since. One of the first metal stacking chairs, 1938 was Hans Coray 'Landi' chair, made of aluminum to be lightweight and easy to move.
The benefits of stackable chairs became really popular in the post-War World. Danis The architect and designer Arne Jacobsen designed the 7 series 3017 model in 1955 and 1960, Robin Day Polyprop created the highly influential stacking chair. The chair Polyprop stacking cleverly uses the new technology of plastic injection molded in a tubular steel frame. The polypropylene plastic chair shells have very high initial cost because the mold for the seat is difficult to make but once made the seats can be produced very cheaply in large quantities in any color and tubular steel bases of the chairs can be painted to match or contrast with the color of plastic or chrome-plated may be allowing a variety of color combinations to adapt to any interior design.
The design of stacking chairs has now moved towards meeting the huge market for furniture feast hotels and catering at weddings and other celebrations or for situations in which a large number of chairs are needed, but where cost is a problem. An example of this sports and social clubs. These chairs are made of steel or extruded aluminum, the latter having the advantage of being available in a variety of extruded tube designs. These chairs can be upholstered in any fabric which when combined with different frame colors again gives an almost unlimited choice for the user. The European market for these chairs was to the 1980s mostly satisfied by the manufacturers of the United Kingdom. This changed gradually after the rise of China as an economic power after the economic reforms introduced by Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping in the 1980s. Cheap steel was soon produced in large quantities, much more than the domestic market could absorb and avoid accused of dumping their excess production to lower cost Chinese manufacturers with the products they sought to excess raw material. An obvious direction was the production of tubular furniture and 1990 by the mills to make chairs and tables steel tube became abundant in China. Importers in the United Kingdom quickly realized of this opportunity. Chinese manufacturers were happy to take on the designs of these importers and happy for relatively short-run production at prices that the Commission European and UK manufacturers could not meet, little by little overwhelming these local producers. Now most stackable chairs are made by factories in the Far East but recently strains have been felt by these manufacturers. Since its admission as a full member of the World Trade Organization in 2001, came under pressure U.S. International Monetary Fund to free the exchange rate of Chinese currency, the RMB Yuan, which has previously been linked by the Chinese government at a fixed rate against U.S. dollar. Since the RMB has been free to find its own level, the currency has become stronger and stronger, Chinese companies for exporting to the U.S. and Europe have experienced a real value of payments in foreign currency are getting increasingly lower. To give an example, in September 2006 a dollar was buying about 8 RMB Chinese but now in September 2008 will only buy 6.80 RMB. The value of 1 September 2006 was GBP 15.15 in September 2008 but now has been reduced to 12.30RMB. This rapid change in combination with an equally rapid rise in raw material prices worldwide has forced Chinese manufacturers to increase prices. What lies the future is uncertain.
