Finding French Museums in Paris France
Europe has a great history and a lot of different museums, and France is not an exception comprises throughout the country, but there is an incredible amount of museums in Paris itself that you can visit.
Probably one of the most famous museums de France in Paris is the Louvre, which is famous for the painting of Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci and this place can take at least a day or more to get around to see all the exhibits and you need a pair of walking shoes for this one! But the popular Musee d'Orsay situated in the former Paris railway station on the left bank Seine River begins where the Louvre leaves off and features mainly French art.
The Palais de Tokyo is another popular museum especially with the younger generation and housed in an art-deco holding only temporary exhibitions, is open until midnight and is known as the most creative and fun museum in Paris.
But you can also can visit a traditional home of one of the famous artists or authors, as well as house of Victor Hugo, who wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dame or see the house of Honor de Balzac, where he is a place of refuge and it even had an escape to get away of debtors who owed him money, which is now part of the museum Musée du Vin wine.
Or for a completely different scene, why Cernuschi not visit the museum with its collection of Asian art, or the latest Fondation Le Corbusier who became a pioneer in modern design and time spent plans to provide better living conditions of people living in crowded cities.
There are plenty of museums that are dedicated to famous artists and sculptors like Rodin Museum and the Picasso Museum, but take a step back in time and get an idea of how some of them lived and worked a visit to the Museum Bourdelle or Gustave Moreau museum is worth the time.
However, only in the city of Paris there are plenty of museums dedicated to specific topics such as the Museum of Egouts or Paris Sewer Museum, where you go under the city to discover its history and how they work, or if you have the catacombs, which are back underground.

Or maybe you have an interest in dolls such as the Musée de la Poupée has to do with the dolls and their history, even more to make assessments and repairs of antique dolls and teddy bears. The Musée du Vin is dedicated to the French in the past tense of wine, wine and here you can even have wine tasting sessions and enjoy a meal at his restaurant.
Paris has a variety of museums for the whole family to enjoy like going inside a decommissioned submarine, visiting the Museum of Air and Space and is in a Boeing 747 or Concorde or going up the tower of the cathedral of Notre Dame to see the gargoyles.
There is much more to offer than just the traditional art world and could spend months just visiting museums, without even contemplating the possibility of other monuments and sites of Paris, which is another important part of the history of France that amazing city is so proud of.
We still like to point out that all museums are closed at least one day week and this is usually a Monday or Tuesday, for example, the Louvre is closed on Tuesdays and so visited other museums get very busy on this day.
Also in some state museums of execution can get free admission the first Sunday of each month, however, if you decide to choose this option, be prepared for large crowds and long lines, especially in some of the best known and most famous museums!
