What type of aircraft release pollution in my sky blue?
I often see small planes across the blue sky disappear leaving a kind of smoke / fog forming a line spliting the air. The planes come and go and over time the sky is as beautiful as it was with the smog spreading around. Are they trying to create dry weather clouds to induce rain? For what its worth I hate to see clear blue sky in ruins.
condensation trails or contrails often appear behind the aircraft. During World War II bombers and fighter pilots noticed that the trails were in some levels, but not in others. In a day on the stelae were happening, the level was safer to fly just below the level at which they occurred. Above any enemy aircraft would be leaving a trail and it would be easy to see. This led to a study of the stelae and a method to predict the level that would have occurred in its preparation. There are two different types of track condensation. If you're on a plane on a day with showers around, look at the wings as the plane descends. You will see a trail of what looks like gray smoke that comes the end of the wing. The movement of air through the wing creates a vortex at the tip of the wing. The pressure drop through the vortex is enough, on a humid day, to make the water vapor condenses into cloud droplets and this is transmitted from the tip of the wing. These condensation trails evaporate quickly behind the plane. The trails we see in the sky are made by engines, not vortices on the wing tips. When fuel is burned, water vapor is produced. We can see this comes from exhaust cars in the morning with frost. Water vapor in the hot exhaust gases condenses in cold air. The same applies to aircraft exhaust and the drops of condensed water leave a visible trail behind the aircraft. If the air is dry, the water droplets evaporate quickly and contrail disappears. If the air is humid, the wake of vapor may take a few minutes before it evaporates. The water vapor spontaneously condenses into water droplets. The water has to condense into something. These are called condensation nuclei. Salt and dust particles are common nuclei. Smoke particles are also nuclei. If the air is very clean and devoid of condensation nuclei may become supersaturated. There are a lot of water vapor in the air but you can not condense. A plane flies through the air saturated pumping out not only water vapor, but also billions of smoke particles on which water vapor condenses. It is a trail of condensation and keeps for a long time. Sometimes, these roads can be extended to form a layer of cloud in the sky. If you want some fun, you should look up "chemtrails" of your favorite search engine. There is a conspiracy theory more important than contrails are government attempts to poison the population. This is not true and never has been. A rare form of path is the path of dissipation or distrail. As a plane flies through high-level clouds, the heat of the engines of the cloud evaporates cutting a clear line through the cloud. Distrails be confused with the shadows of contrails. A contrail over a thin layer of clouds that cast a shadow on the cloud layer leaving a strange-looking dark line. It is particularly strange that the cloud layer can not be easily seen.
